Hey friends! Happy Sunday!
This quarantined life has been something, hasn’t it? I don’t know about you, but I myself have felt pretty energized to complete lingering projects and do some deep cleaning.
While my motivation isn’t always there, my hubby and I have been getting TONS done.
This week, I got a few new items for my office, and I really wanted to show them to you! But, my office area was a MESS. So yesterday I spent a couple hours cleaning, going through old papers, organizing things, and giving my little space a makeover.
I didn’t take any before photos, but let me just say, I haven’t seen the top of my desk for at least 6 months, maybe a year. I am someone who sometimes just puts things somewhere to “deal with later,” and then later never comes.
I also have been collecting art pieces for my future office. My husband and I have been working towards getting a new house, and hopefully within the next year or so we can make that happen. I had the mindset that I would save my art pieces for later, but during my refresh, I decided I could enjoy them NOW.
If there is one thing quarantine has taught me, it’s that all we have is now.
So without further ado, let me share with you my new inspiring office space!
Ultimately, the refresh began, as I said, when I got a new office chair! I previously had what I called the throne. It was a big, deep green velvet caned chair. It was comfortable, but not an office chair. It had regular legs, not wheels, so it would scuff our newly refinished original hardwoods. I decided after seeing a photo from my favorite blogger Chris Loves Julia, that I wanted a rolling chair.
All the new chairs I saw were around $200+, and I just do not value an office chair that much. Someone might, but that’s more than I wanted to spend. I’m also a fan of vintage, so I was thrilled with my girl Macy of 223 Vintage Co shared on her IG stories that she had a chair on sale!
She also bought my old office chair from me, so this chair ended up being only $20.
I absolutely LOVE this chair! It’s cozy, it’s very sturdy, it’s from the 70s, and the leather is in AMAZING condition! I am so lucky to have snatched this up!
While I was picking up my chair, I saw this gorgeous wicker paper organizer and new I had to have it. Part of my problem with organization is the amount of notebooks and paper I have. I always want my unicorn notebooks on my desk, and this was the perfect solution:
So for now, my office is tidy, organized, cozy, and inspiring to me!
Items in my space are from: Hatchlings and Hens in Cedar Falls, Iowa, Gin + Tarnish in Jewell, Iowa, JB Knacker in Gilbert, Iowa, The Family Roost in Grand Rapids, Michigan, art from Sarah Shotts, of NW Arkansas, a flamingo stuffed toy from my trip to Vegas in January, art from my dear friends Jen, Sophia, and Christine from their trip to Ireland, and the painting on the easel is art from my Grandma Marti and it’s waiting to get put on the walls.
This is where all that editing magic happens, so I hope I can keep this space as gorgeous and neat as it is right now.
Thanks for taking a peek into my office refresh! What space in your home could use a little love and attention?
xoxo,
La Rae
